  1. Why should I use AeroColorado to purchase an airplane?
  2. Purchasing an airplane can be an extremely stressful event. Any airplane is expensive, and purchasing the wrong airplane can be economically disastrous. AeroColorado will spend however much time and effort is required to find the right airplane for you. We know the questions to ask and will do all of the necessary research to ensure the aircraft truly is as is it presented to be. We will negotiate on your behalf to achieve the best price and terms possible, providing cost and time savings that will more than justify our fee.

  3. What does the aircraft purchasing process involve?
  4. After we have determined the best airplane type for you, we will find several specific examples for you to review. Once we decide on a particular airplane, we will begin the purchase negotiations and start auditing the maintenance and operational records. An escrow account will be set up, a pre-purchase inspection will be scheduled, and the closing details will be confirmed. All required FAA paperwork will be prepared, and any deficiencies discovered in the pre-purchase inspection will be resolved to your satisfaction. At the closing we will file all documents with the FAA, take possession of your airplane, and ferry it home.

  5. How long does it take to purchase an airplane?
  6. The time-frame can vary considerably depending on the age and type of airplane, but typically the process takes 4-6 weeks to complete.

  7. How do I benefit from AeroColorado’s Aircraft Management Services?
  8. Operating and maintaining a turbine aircraft is an involved and time-consuming process that typically requires an entire in-house flight department. AeroColorado will select, train and manage your crew, providing an additional level of liability protection between you, the owner, and the operation of the airplane. We will oversee the maintenance of the airplane, and provide you with group insurance and fuel discounts. We reconcile all bills and expenses on your behalf, for financial accuracy.  AeroColorado takes the worry and burden out of owning your airplane, so you can relax and enjoy your asset.

  9. What criteria is used to select my crew?
  10. AeroColorado will carefully screen potential pilots with an emphasis on operational safety. We don’t simply rely on FAA or insurance company minimum standards, we look for pilots who have a proven history of safe operational experience in the type of airplane they will be flying. AeroColorado insists that all of our pilots have achieved ATP certification, the highest level of examination possible. In addition, we recommend that the owners participate in the interview process since they will have a direct relationship with the crew.
